CO2 Extraction Equipment

The CDMH.20-2X-2F is a closed loop CO2 extraction equipment that can operate in both subcritical and supercritical modes. It is the largest and most popular system in our commercial range, designed for high volume extraction operations.

The system has two extraction vessels and two expansion chambers, and it runs on a custom hydraulic gas compressor pump. The system and the software can work with either one or both extraction vessels at the same time. Using one vessel at a time is more efficient, as it lets the operator load and unload one vessel while the other is in use, and it also increases the flow rate through a single vessel.

To produce high quality extracts and ensure a consistent process, precise process control is essential. Our CO2 extraction equipment integrates proprietary software, accurate pressure control hardware, engineered heat exchangers, and powerful temperature controllers to achieve industry leading process control and stability.

Our CO2 extraction equipment makes it easy to load and unload the extraction vessel with our easy open vessels, quick connect fitting design, and precision biomass bags that fit each vessel. Harvesting the extract is also fast and simple, allowing for quick turnaround time, and gas charge/recovery is optimized by special valving and software algorithms.

Our CO2 extraction equipment is ideal for any small production or development project. It can work with different types of cannabis and hemp materials and produce different types of extracts, such as full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, or isolate. It can also preserve the natural flavors, aromas, and terpenes of the cannabis and hemp material better than other extraction methods, which can degrade or remove these compounds.

CO2 extraction is considered the gold standard in the cannabis and hemp industry, as it offers many benefits over other extraction methods in terms of safety, quality, purity, and consistency. However, it also requires more advanced and expensive equipment, more technical expertise and training, and more time and energy than other extraction methods. Therefore, choosing the best extraction method for a specific purpose depends on various factors, such as the type and quality of the cannabis and hemp material, the desired type and quality of the extract, the available budget and resources, and the regulatory and environmental requirements.

Our CO2 extraction equipment can also be customized with an ethanol co-solvent option, which can enhance the extraction efficiency and yield, as well as the solubility and stability of the extract. Ethanol is a polar solvent that can dissolve more compounds than CO2, such as chlorophyll, waxes, and lipids. However, ethanol also has some drawbacks, such as being flammable, toxic, and expensive, and requiring more post-processing and solvent recovery.
